Re: entry level pay
Hum....dunno about that area...
But in Austin, TX, it's about 30K to 40K at least (if without a degree).
If it's an Engineer entry level job (with a degree), it's about 50K to 60K.
Mind talking about how much is your offer?
Suggest you go to Monster.com, they have a very good salary comparison tool.
Good luck on choosing jobs.

Re: entry level pay
Find out what your nearest McDonalds is paying, and an entry-level computer job
should be just above that these days.
The difference is that McDonalds is always hiring, and the jobs there have far
less stress and demands to them.

Re: entry level pay
This whole thing depends on what kind and what degree you get. An AA
degree is harmless, you will still be a tech and maybe a better paid
one. Getting your Network+ and a few more certs could help, maybe
equally. Going for a BS means that you will not be staying a tech for
long. The pay is better, the competition for positions is equal or
tougher.
Sean
BSEE
BSCS
And do not do as I have done: fail to keep up the course work after
you get your degree. When I got my BSEE they did not have simultors. I
did use a slide rule in class a couple of times. MathCAD was not
invented. And on the last job where I used my BSEE stuff instead of my
BSCS stuff, I learned how MOSFETs work well enough to design with
them. The downside was that I had to learn that: I had not kept up on
that side of my background enough.

You must be as old as I am. My first year in science, I had no
calculator until second term, and the old slide rule saw lots of
action. When I did my electronics enginering technology diploma, we
weren't allowed a calculator in math tests.
