Passed 70-216 and 70-217 today (70-217 details)
Before I knock off from lack of sleep, I am going to try to put down some general impressions of 70-217.
I had 43 questions and 120 minutes to complete them. I had ~15/43 on DNS, ~10/43 questions on GPO, and I was very surprised with the ~4/43 questions I had on RIS.
I was prepared for this exam but incidentally. I used the 2154 MOC as my main study material along with the Server Resource Kit. There was a lot of overlap with other material and I prepared for my exams together so that helped for my method.
I used almost all the time for this exam (all but a few minutes) but it was less of a burden than with 70-216, yet more importan that I take that time. About 10 of the 43 questions were Choose All That Apply (meaning they don't give the number). It pays to pay attention and reread those questions.
You know you have done something right when multiple questions make you smile because the Choose All That Apply yields just one check mark because of the specific wording of the question.
I would very much emphasize this on this exam: to pay attention to the questions.
Be prepared to use command line utilities and recover from most failed states (for all parts covered in the exam). Also, interestingly enough, know the capabilities of Windows NT 4.0 specifically with regard to DNS, DHCP, mixed mode domains, etc.
I hope that helps... another Active Directory exam for me on Monday (70-219). I am using the 2161 MOC as my main study material for this one. But I am going to pick up one more. The practical and the practice is behind me... now I need test myself on the exceptions and the rules.

Good for you! I took 217 just before the holiday and failed it. I thought I knew it. Oh well, thanks for the breakout of questions. Back to the books for me.
