XP Problem

Hi all, I'm hoping someone has had this problem before and can help me out. I was lent several CD's of MP3's that I want to make into audio cd's. However, when I attempted to copy the MP3's to my hard drive so that I could return the cd's, Windows Explorer closed. I tried both Edit - Copy and ctrl+c and nothing worked. I also tried going through My Computer and still nothing.

Out of five cd's I tried, only the second would copy to disk. I did manage to copy the cd's themselves but when I attempted to burn songs from them to audio, no dice. Adaptec's CD Creator closed just like Explorer did and Nero coughed up errors during the testing phase. Any thoughts? Why could I copy the contents of one cd and not the other four? I'm running XP but I tried copying the cd's contents onto an XP system at work and it did it just fine. I'm stumped! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Cool hmmmm

You said you can copy the cd straight up without coping it to HDrive. Does it work(play) after you copied it that way.

If not then there must be something wrong with the cd contents.
But you also mentioned that it works fine at work.
This raises another prob.... It could be that your CD-ROM can't read the cd properly.---- but then again .. it copied it so it must be able to read it...???

Darn... sorry can't be of much help.!!

I thought XP had a built-in CD copier and hated any third party CD-R tools... is there now a patch to install some of those other tools and have them perform successfully?

right click your CDR drive and chose write these files to CD.
Then you can browse to the files you wish to burn.

Yeah, it's a pain to get most 3rd party CD burning tools to work under XP.

Post nero burning rom has no problem

Nero Burning Rom has no problem in Windows XP. Easy CD creator just doesnt cut the mustard anymore. And besides, it seems funny that Easy CD Creator 5 would need patches to work with Windows XP considering they are the ones who gave their license for microsoft to use their code... Wierd... anyhow.. try nero.. www.ahead.de you will love it.
