Iced or arkmay,
I was wondering if you guys have worked with Novell on your previous jobs in Raleigh. I heard that North Carolina is one of Novell's biggest clients-as far as companies using Novell goes. I'm not sure what to study for after I conquer the CCNA. I was thinking of MS Server2000 or a CNA. If it's true that Novell is big in NC that would help out.

Well I havent run across much Novell, but I wouldnt consider my experience to be a good indicator of what is going on out there. I have only worked for one company during my short IT career. We were a WinNT shop.

Welp, Not to brag all. I have MCSE+I, CNE, CCA, CCNA, A+, Network+. Novell makes you take more exams than any other vendor out there. If you want to spend more time staying up to date on certs. It my IT career which is about 6 years. I have seen alot less of Novell than NT. Novell 5 is alot stronger that any other release that has been out. My words, stick with Bill. He will show you the money.
Cheers.

I would not pursue Novell if someone paid for it. I see it as being virtually a waste of my time... of which I do not have much of. I would advise that you pursue as much Cisco as possible... Cisco has a huge presence in this area. If not Cisco, go with Nortel... which also has a huge presence. If you REALLY wanna do server admin type stuff... go for the MCSE 2000, that will certainly be in much more demand than anything with Novell. Hope this helps ya some.
