I have been prowling the Microsoft KB and whitepapers and I cannot find a
discussion of this.

What happens to users who have been granted delegate access in Exchange 5.5
when they are moved to a new Exchange 2000 server in the same organization?
Our experience has been puzzling so far since very few delegates are
maintaining the rights as their mailbox moves from E5.5 to E2K.

Once the user has been moved to E2K, you can simply delete your delegate and
re-assign their access to resume the relationship. However, this is not
something that we want to do in a community of 3,000 if possible.

Has anyone seen a write up from Microsoft on what happens to delegations when
users move from one to the other?

Assuming:

- you are using DSA to move the mailboxes
- the ADC is installed and configured properly and is replicating 'always',
or replication is initiated/verified after the mailbox move
- there are no errors or warnings in the system/app event logs on the source
or destination server during the mailbox move
- the Windows 2000 security principals involved exist before the mailbox
move
- the Windows 2000 security principals were created from an upgrade, not a
clone (e.g., starting with a pristine domain, using ClonePrincipal)

Can you, using the account to perform the migration, open the mailbox in
Outlook? I.e., create a profile on a workstation for one of the mailboxes
in question, logon as the administrator account used to perform the
migration...
