Netchild's Mon W2K Server Question of the Day
2 Weeks now and no sign of my friend Netchild.
Soon i need to find someone else to post the Server QOD's.
Anyone wants to takle this?
Here goes Monday's Question:
In Windows 2000, certain folders are part of a user's roaming profile and will "follow" a user to any computer that user logs in from. However, due to performance reasons you may wish to redirect some of these folders to a network server. By doing this you eliminate the need to download the contents of these folders before successfully logging the user on to his or her computer.
Which of the following folders can be redirected with Group Policy?
Choose all that apply.
A. Application Data
B. Cookies
C. Desktop
D. Favorites
E. My Documents
F. Recent
G. Send To
H. Start Menu
I. Templates
Great Question i think, as roaming profiles belong to one of my favorites. We'll see ya' tomorrow!

that are the items found in the <user profile> folder.
so when you copy the profile to your server they are all available.

I've just tested out a roaming profile.
Put a shortcut to IE in the Startup folder. Set the Home Page to microsoft.com. Logged in to a couple of sites that requrie cookies. Went to another PC. Logged in.
IE fires up.
Home page - microsoft.com!
