Issues with PPP and chap....
Ok I dont know if I am not understanding the intended results or if I am doing somthing wrong here. What im trying to do is configure CHAP on my PPP serial link between two routers. I go in set up IP Addresses and get the interfaces up and running all is good there. Enable PPP encapsulation on both interfaces, set the usernames and password on both routers(correctly) tell it to use CHAP for authentication. I go ping the other interface and of course I have success. But then I decide to mess around a bit so I screw up the username and passwords to see what happens. Ahhh goto ping the other device and its a success.(this is one of those things in which success is bad) Now shouldnt me changing the passwords on one router make it so the connection is not made? Am I missing somthing? hmm oh and I also removed the correct password and username.

Hah nevermind I got it. After giving it a bit of thought. I said hmmmm I already established the connection(but doesnt CHAP attempt to periodiclly try to authenticate the connection even after the intial authentication?) so all I had to do was shut the interface down and then put it back up and all didnt work(which is a good thing)
