I got 956/1000 with 30 minutes to spare!

As for my little story: Last night as I was suffering from test anxiety, 2 women from my past called (And I'd like VERY much to keep them in my past... they are PSYCHOS!) which just added MUCH frustration to my anxiety! The night right before the test, sheesh. (shaking head)

"Veteran" advice:

There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said by other people here, though I will repeat that the questions were tricky. Know your stuff to a point where you can explain it OUT LOUD (or in the forums!) to somebody and make them understand it - then you know you understand it. In other words, you have to UNDERSTAND the material, not MEMORIZE it or you WILL be sucked in by the tricky wording of the questions.

I'd say the most important thing is not how MUCH you study, but HOW you study. I studied on vacation in Mexico and in the local park (in addition to hours behind my computer at home!) atmosphere is important! The materials discussed in this forum i.e. sybex, boson, cisco have all the information you need pick one (preferably two) that suits your tastes.

Test day I had a couple energy drinks, had a GOOD workout, and studied my notes once right before leaving to the test center. Working out helpes a lot to clear your mind (i.e. ex girlfriends caling the night before) and gets the blood flowing to the brain for the exam. Also listening classical music on the way to the testing center helps calm your mind, and supposedly raises your IQ by 5 points. Listen to HARD ROCK on the way back home after passing!

This forum rocks and contributing here HAS affected my test performance in a positive way! I'll continue to contribute to the CISCO forums on my certification TRACK! Hope to see you peeps in CCND & CCNP forums soon!

Bye the way, I will post my score sheet and study notes later this evening on my web page http://www.ryanoreilly.com

Thanks everybody, and good luck on your exams!

Congrats on passing, especially with such a high score. Keep up the good work. Are you going on to CCNP/CCDP and CCIE? What was your study method? What study material(s) did you use?

Great stuff, Rore! I thought from your knowledge of the material, you already had your CCNA!!

Cheers,

Deets

P.S. Advice to others: Disconnect your phone from the socket the day/ night before the exam!! Screen calls, if you MUST be informed about who calls you!!

Good job!!!! Can't agree with you more. I haven't taken the exam yet, but by understanding the basic material well I am able to build upon a stronger foundation to master the more complex material. Every well placed "baby step" secures me for the next level.

LOL @ "they are psychos". You killed that CCNA...well done!

BTW, how long to you get to take the test? Also, is the link you posted the correct one? I tried it, but it didn't work.

Again, well done with a great score!

Thanks everybody for the praise! I am certain that if I never came across this forum I would have had a lower score. This forum will continue to be great as long as people contribute and ask questions for discussion.

confewshz: I used (in order of usefulness): Sybex, E-trainer, Boson, Cisco Training Kit (SUX!), and the Cisco Press book (As a reference). I do plan on following the Cisco certification track and I plan to be a CCIE (development) when I'm 25.

Deets512: Great advice, words to live by. =)

firechicken: I believe you get an hour and 15 minutes, most of my time was spent on the subnetting material for which I never bothered with the "powers of 2 shortcut." As far as I can tell my site is up and running, please let me know if you still cannot reach it. (newzletterz@hotmail.com)

Thanks again everybody, I'm going to get some snowboarding in and I should be back in a couple weeks, hope to see some hot discussions!
