Over and over and over I keep hearing good things about the Boson. I'm using them now, and hope that they're as good as everyone says they are for preparing actual exam. My thoughts are that the Boson exams cover the material petty well and the questions are worded in a way that you have to think about the question before answering.

I've used both techmindworks and boson. After using techmindworks for about a week, the boson tests were relatively straight forward in comparision. Techmindworks if pretty challenging the first time, but the drill build your understanding and confidence. When you take the boson, you will have a good understanding of the material and will hopefully answer the questions based on your knowledge rather than guessing Go with techmindworks first then boson second. Hope this helps.

I have used Techmindworks and I find it quite interesting. Most people seem to suggest Boson however, there is another good test engine I have heard of - Exam Essentials. You can weigh people's opinion, before committing yourself, but I will advise you read up 1st.

I am currently using the following:

1) Boson - all three modules - great review tool considering the volume of questions when combined. If you can score in the 90's and above on each of the 4 separate exams per each module (12 tests in all) then you should do well considering you know the material and understand the objectives. What's nice about the exam format is the objectives are in no particular order compared to exam essentials which is organized into topics some only offering 12+ questions - makes it easy to memorize as opposed to understanding the concepts.

2) Self Test Software - This one is organized into topics like EE but has a large IOS commands sections and also VLan concentration - seen some questions/topics on STS not covered in Boson or EE - again good review tool but I would stick to Boson as the unorganized topic format is akin to the real exam. This one is good to narrow and focus on your weak areas. However, like EE some sections only have a few questions.

3) Exam Essentials - Breaks up the objectives like STS and good for narrowing in on your weak areas. Again, some sections like the WAN topics and Bridging/switching have more questions then others EX: lan design has only 12 questions, Network management only 18 and OSI only 34. Largest section is IOS 84 questions.

4)Cheet sheets - contains 200 questions - very simple format - asks question then directlt below is the correct answer. best thing is to remove the answer portion and try to get the correct answer without looking at the written one then check them over later to verify your answer - only drawback is no explanations given or multiple choice - just simple question/answer. Since I haven't taken the exam yet not sure about their claim that these are actual test questions - guess I'll find out soon enough.

Hope this info helps
