Taking CNE Upgrade exam soon
Any last minute pointers on the Upgrade exams? I'm planning on taking it within the next couple weeks.
I've been using the Exam Essentials and Self Test Software, as well as the Netware 6 Administrator handbooks. EE has always been good prep in the past, and most of the new stuff doesn't seem too hard to grasp.

I'll have to let you know once I take the exam. Exam Essentials has always been good. This is the first I've used the Selftest software, but it seems to have some nice features as well.

I passed the Upgrade to Netware 6 exam last month using Exam Essentials. Finished the test in 20 minutes. I've used EE exclusively for Novell exams for the last 3 years. It's the best product out there. I also used it to pass the IT Project+ yesterday. Called Novell and they will issue me a MCNE since I have CNE6 and IT Proj+ now. Good Luck to everyone!

Did you use the new version, 6 of EE or 5.5? Just curious cause I bought all of Novell tests awhile back for 5.5. Wondering if there was a difference.

I just passed the IT Project+ today myself and joined you all in the MCNE ranks.
FYI: I have been using the Self Tests from STS Software for all of my Novell stuff. They are the only Novell authorized self test software provider that I am aware of (with a full endorsement from Novell) and I kid you not, some of the practice questions come out VERY, VERY CLOSE to the exam questions. They are almost verbatim with the exception of a few changes in filler info. I'm not saying that all the questions are like that, only 5 or so throughout the test, but every little bit helps

The Upgrade to 6 test was easier than I thought it would be. I was initially worried about the clustering portion but I only saw a few questions about it and they were pretty general. The most important thing I believe is knowing the difference between iMonitor, iManager, and Remote Manager and knowing what each do. Be sure to know where on the screen to click to do certain tasks. There are a couple of Point-and-clicks in the test.
Know NSS really well and how you manage it. Remember, in Netware 6, all the NSS management is in ConsolOne now, not NWConfig at the server console. The utility you use to convert a traditional Netware volume to NSS is VCU.NLM. I specifically remember that question.
This info should get you started. Let me know if you have any other questions.
