Laggy 3d games
Well so far I've been loving Linux more and more ever since I installed it
last week, the only thing I've been a little ticked at is that 3D games lag
quite a bit.
The "enable hardware acceleration" box in the monitor properties is checked
and I installed the Linux ATi drivers for my 8500LE. I wouldn't know why
it's lagging.. so I'm here. I'm mostly talking about Half-Life and other
things lagging on WineX, but I tried a 3D linux game and it still lags.

Which native Linux games have you tried? What is the FPS reported by
glxgears?

I ran.. Chromium or something like that. In the menu and in-game it was
less than 5fps.

Your 3d accelleration isn't working properly. You should try again. I
don't know how the radeon should be set up, but if you post something
like "Need help setting up 3D on ATI 8500LE" you'll probably get some
assistance.
