BIG QUESTION about shutting down
is there a way to change the amount of time i have to hold down power button to get the computer to turn off???
like a bios setting or something???

yeah, somewhat. i just read about it last night, actually: CMOS, Power Management, Soft-Off by PWRBTN. that'll let you change whether you want the power button to act like the AT (instant off), or a 4-second delay.

The button in the front of a PC on an ATX box is often configurable in the BIOS Setup program.

I found this site on the net. You can change a setting in the bios using the eeprom write command. I doubt it will be worth the time trying to do this becuase you will have to purchase chips and more than likely you will have to purchase a chip reader/writer. Just hold the button down...That is what I would do.
This site tells you the variables to change. All you have to do is figure out how.
