tuning sql server
We have an sql server in a win2000 domain. He's not listed
in the active directory. Should we put the sql in the
active direcotory and why?
Any suggestions to make the sql faster, it's running on a
dual xeon processor and 1500 mb ram but it's not really
fast.
We have problems with clients who connect to the sql
server by using dhcp. With a fixed ip address they don't
have a problem....
Suggestions?

see if this helps,
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...y/en-us/archite
c/8_ar_cs_1gku.asp
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...y/en-us/replsql
/repltools_9j8z.asp
After registering SQL Server to Active Directory, users can browse SQL
Server instance, database or publication information from the Active
Directory without knowing the SQL Server server name.
