remove partition of Flash Memory on cisco 2500 Router.

Hey folks,
I faced a very peculiar problem while upgrading the Flash memory on a
Cisco 2500 Router. I upgraded the flash memory from the current 8MB to
16 MB, using 2, 8 MB slots. After reloading the Router, it showed me 2
MB partitions, then we used the "no partition flash" command to create
a single parition but not successful, then just as a try we swapped
the memory modules and then the flash showed as a 16 MB capacity.
Has anyone faced this problem and if yes how was it rectified (other
than swapping the memory modules)????
thanx in advance......

Sai.....

Once you do the no part fla, erase flash #2, sometimes you might need to
erase them both.

The easiest method is to boot to 0x2101 and then have a tftp server and the
ethernet port connected and update the flash, and download the IOS in one
reboot.

Re: remove partition of Flash Memory on cisco 2500 Router.

"Partition flash 1 16" will give you a single 16mb partition

I would guess that "no partition flash" would leave the flash modules as
they were physically 2 x 8
