Subnetting
Damm! i tought i knew all about subnetting, but i found this question :
...its from Transcender but im gonna put just the final part, the rest is just BS...
Two subnets: B and C. You have decided to segment a portion of the B subnet (208.199.33.0) for the new Subnet "C" and assign the reamaining address space to the physical segment that contains SubNet "B". The network address for C is 208.199.33.240/28
In order to provide the greatest number of available host address, which of the following network addresses should be assigned to the physical segment that contains Subnet B? (select all choices that are correct)
a. 208.199.33.0/24
b. 208.199.33.0/25
c. 208.199.33.0/26
d. 208.199.33.128/26
e. 208.199.33.192/26
f. 208.199.33.192/27
g. 208.199.33.224/28
Please, some HUMAN EXPLAIN! I know how subnetting and find the number of host and Subnets (the 2^x-2 rule, etc) But i do not find any relation with this
I already checked the answer, and i think i have not to say that i still do not understand "why"

hmmm interesting question... now here is the answer!
heh... ok... post your question whenever you get back on.
networking is VERY deep... just you think you are starting to get a grasp on something, it will come back and bite you in the XXX... you never know anything... maybe just enough to suffice for whatever job role one is in... Just the other day I sneaked to a local barnes and noble and look at the networking section... literally a whole shelf on TCP/IP... and you would think everything you need to know about tcp/ip is covered in network + (yup, a rip on all network+ resumes that I have seen which list among their qualifications an intimate knowledge of tcp/ip)
