server and network cert?
I've been a programmer for several years now. On my latest review, my
boss said he wanted me to gain some expertise in servers (we use Win NT,
transitioning to 2000) and Internet connectivity issues so that I can
help troubleshoot from those perspectives as well as the pure software
aspect when something goes wrong.
I'm not looking to get a paper cert just to impress the boss, only to
un-impress him the first time a problem comes up that I can't solve.
Might not end up with a cert at all, but I would like some pointers as
to good beginner's books, etc, that might further my knowledge, as well
as which exams I might consider. Thanks for any recommendations!
Kris

Re: server and network cert?
check on MCSA certification, if all you need to be able to work on an
existing network/LAN, then that will cover it. Those courses/classes pretty
much cover it all.

Re: server and network cert?
That'll definitely work for the local network part. But am I missing
something, or will I need something else to know where to start looking
when a user calls and says "I get this 'page cannot be displayed'
thingie when I go to your site"?
