Spid's Mon (12/2) Win2k Pro. QoD
Sorry for the delay. I've been a little strapped for time today.
Enforcer works for a company and is using a Windows 2000 Professional system to create a general newsletter that discusses all kinds of stuff.
One of the branch offices has asked him to print his current offering to their local printer named PRINTER1. This printer is connected to a Windows 2000 print server named PSERVER1. Enforcer would like very much to access this print server via the Internet.
IIS 5.0 is currently installed on his system, and Enforcer is currently running I.E. version 5.5 with all the latest security patches installed. Enforcer opens up I.E. and enters http://PSERVER1/PRINTER1 in the address box, but he can't connect to the printer. He then tries http://PSERVER1/printers but can not see any printers on the print server.
Which of the following is most likely to correct the problem and allow Enforcer to connect to the printer to print out his newsletter? (Select the best choice)
A. Re-install Internet Explorer
B. Upgrade his version of Internet Explorer to version 6.0
C. Use the Add Printer Wizard to add the printer to his workstation.
D. Install IIS on PSERVER1
Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!!

Can eliminate answers (A) and (B) because its not likely a brower issue, nor will it solve the printer access problem by upgrading to IE6.
The answer is (D).

"D". IIS needs to be installed and functioning on the Print Server in order to publish printers on the Web.

yep its D alright, wow I didn't catch that. I've gotta learn to stop 'scanning' questions so quickly.
That was like that joke where you mutter under your breath really quickly if-a-rooster-layed-an-egg RIGHT ON THE VERY MIDDLE of a roof, which way would the egg fall?

And the answer is.....D
To support Internet printing, IIS needs to be installed and running on the Windows 2000 Printer Server and the Windows 2000 Professional system. The most likely reason that Enforcer can not print or connect to the printers on the print server over the Internet is that IIS is not installed on the Windows 2000 Print Server.
Enforcer does not need to re-install or upgrade I.E. All he needs is I.E. version 4.0 or later to utilize Internet printing. The Add Printer Wizard can be used to add PRINTER1 to to his computer after IIS is installed on the print server so he can connect to it.
Nice job everyone!!
