Re: exam
I would think that you would want to know IPX just to know it. There are a
lot of Novell shops still out there, and that would still be a handy bit of
knowledge to have...

I agree even though we do not have many Novell shops left in my neck of the woods

In article <3ddcd8d7_3@corp.newsgroups.com>, cbruce@mvn.net says...

Smaller shops can switch to IP easily. Bigger sites cannot. But NetWare is
fast becoming a footnote in networking history. I say that as an ardent
NetWare fan. I've used NW since 2.15 days (compsurf/ztest anyone?)

Re: exam
I think with the pass rate at the 85% mark that to go in the exam with no
understanding of IPX/SPX at all would be foolish, you can only get around 7
questions wrong and an otherwise easy IPX one could come back to haunt you.
It would take you all of 2 hours to get a brief knowledge of IPX and its
ACL's, services, addressing scheme (it only the MAC plus some other digits!)
etc. and it could be the difference between a pass or fail. If you really
cant take anymore knowledge into the exam with you or your head will
explode, I suppose you could give it a miss as its not an very important
area. Just cos some ppl got lucky with no q's doesnt mean you will, there
are selections from over 2000 q's or so I have been told.
just my 2p
