Problem From Hyper Terminal
I have this problem. After connecting to my router in Hyperterminal, I cant get the program to recognize my keyboard. Says hit return to start, nothing happens. And Yes, my keyboard is working otherwise.

Re: Problem From Hyper Terminal
Have you checked your settings in HyperTerminal? It should be 8 data bits, No parity, 1 stop bit, No flow control.

Sometimes setting the bit rate to 9600 and setting the stop bits to 2 will clear up this problem, as well as the wrong characters displayed on screen problem I've seen.

I had a similar experience, it turned out that somehow the cable went bad. Just put my other one in and it was fine.

Also be sure it's a roll over cable connected to the console port and the other end is connected using the special DB9 adapter for your cpu's serial port and not the nic card.

Its been a long time since I posted, but I decided to check in... The console port is configured for 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no parity. Any other setting unless configured in the startup-config will yield unpredictable results.
