I have no idea, and the only idea I can offer is that it seems that the number of CCNA candidates has grown exponentially over the past year. Even six months ago it was not nearly as popular as it is now. Everywhere I turn I talk to people who are desiring to go for their CCNA and climb the Cisco ladder. For the sake of the market, I hope Cisco continues to increase the difficulty of their exams so as not to allow the market to become saturated and "dumbed down".
