Running anti-virus software on SQL server 2000

Currently our company is using Trend ServerProtect on all
of our servers except our production database servers,
which are running SQL 2000. We have not installed onto
the DB servers due to concerns of performance
degradation. Does anyone have any experience with
running Trend (or any other AV product) on SQL? Thank
you.

Charles,

Its necessary that you have AVs scanning the SQL Server but make sure that
you exclude the database files. Also, you need to manually stop the AV
whenever you do SQL Server setup like service pack, upgrade etc.
