I've chosen to go with i-net+ instead of CIW for all the logical reasons of getting two for one etc but was looking at the New Horizons info they sent me and the course they provide for i-net+ is exactly the same as for CIW Foundations. Is this normal. I thought i-net+ was more networking orientated and Foundations more internet related. I'm very new so can you put me in the picture here please?

I would'nt really say their the same !! There close to each other, but the CIW exam I did, (site Designer) is as the name suggests, more Internet/website related.
There's Much more enfaces on design methods and "how did they do that" kind of thing !!
But at the end of the day, they are pretty similiar and I guess the choice is yours !!

Thanks for the help guys. I'd read lots of posts on taking i-net to get two for one but as my real aim is Web Designer I was unsure whether I should take CIW Foundations instead.

I teach the CIW Foundations/ i-Net+ course. It's officially CIW, and I concentrate with the Prosoft Training Materials, but I encourage my students to take the i-Net+ test, since that will give them two certifications automatically.

Hey there!
Actually, yes they are similar. But it seems that CIW is a bit more geared to the “Web design” area where the I-Net+ is more geared to the networking area also. I opted for the I-Net+ and I do not recommend the pro soft courseware for the I-Net. I would recommend the Exam Prep I-Net+ book only. With the CIW I found a lot of their questions and answers came straight from their book verbatim. The I net is more of a factual exam about the Internet and web design. I have been in the CIW classes and IMHO I was very disappointed in that prosoft courseware in preparing for the I-Net+. Good Luck!!
BTW I am a New Horizons Student
