i like the way the whol event was captured using IT methods, ie digital camera and then for historical reasons was posted on the internet. perhaps we could discuss whether the server is m$- or unix-based.

I'd love to know more about that. The ground underneath the asphalt must've been washed away or something. The poor lady has that "What am I going to tell my husband?" look about her.

Those poor Czechs...
Good thing the person with the camera was there to capture the whole thing ... right from the beginning... instead of perhaps warning people it was a very deep whole...cos then we wouldn't have photos!

wow, this is a weird situation indeed! what is the lady doing in the 7th picture down?!?!? seems she's swimming in the hole in front of the car...just what would that accomplish??? i think somebody made that hole as a trap! why is it there and why is it so deep??? this really puzzles me

This set of photos is from the terrible rain and floods that swept Europe a month or so ago. Czech Republic (formerly Czecho-Slovakia) - where these photos were taken - was one of the worst hit.
This is what happens when tunnels (perhaps underground train?) underneath road collapse durin very heavy rainfall.
In one of the prior photos you can see the woman getting out of the car using the passenger door, then swimming for 'dry' ground.
