70-216 Looks hard, does anyone know what the comparitive failure rate is in contrast to 210, 215 & 218?

I have heard unconfirmed rumors of some people passing 216. But, I think Microsoft is doing something about it.

Man Tech Ranger, you wit is getting profound. That was cool!

Dracul, you gotta figure most people can pass 210 and 215. 218 does utilize some concepts from 216 and 217, so I imagine it is fairly on a par with 210,215 or slightly higher. If you read through the posts here, probably somewhere around 1 to 2 out of ten or so might miss this one. So, you just gotta figure you have to go in there at your best.

Get the test objectives off the Microsoft site, get a good book or two, have at least two computers on a network that will be capable of running 2k server. practice questions (Usually come with book, depending on publisher and title, but look for that. You will have to go to the Web for a lot of topics, MS Technet, etc. Don't sell this one short up front and come in 80% ready, because you will get spanked. Come at it 100%. You can do it.

The bottom line on 216 is you really need to know how W2K networks are setup, by the MS book. If you go in with a heathy knowledge of W2K networks (as opposed to the OS), you will pass with no pain.

The best way to prep for the exam is simple. Setup a system running W2K server and another with W2K pro. Network them togather. Pickup one of the prep books for the exam (I used Sybex, get the ExamPrep book if possible). Go through the "labs" listed in the book. That will give you the "feel" of a W2K network.

Those labs typically walk you through all the preferences and settings tabs. That's long and boring, but there's about 20-25 questions that depend on you knowing where to set certain preferences. So those are good things to have first hand knowledge of.

I don't know what the failure rate is, but it's probably pretty high.

For me, 70-216 was tough for a Microsoft exam, but it was kindegarten stuff compared to the linear algebra midterm I just took, where after months of hard work, all I could hope for was to squeak out 50%.
