Is bsci the replacement for bscn?

Is bsci the replacement for bscn?

Look at this link
http://cisco.com/warp/public/10/wwt...grams/ccnp.html

It looks like they may have just renamed the course or something. Also would one use the same books or is there new curriculum? Or am I just confusing myslef? Any feedback would be great.

They sure renamed BSCN to BSCI after adding the IS-IS Routing Protocol to the course and it now appears in the Course Outline on the page
http://cisco.com/pcgi-bin/front.x/w...networking:ISIS

and/or other Ciscopress reference books that have included it, such as this Routing TCP/IP Volume 1
http://ciscopress.com/catalog/product.asp?product_id={37DFB87F-2989-45A6-8D01-0521D33054E7}&session_id={893615F1-42DA-46C9-B24A-2008C7F22FC4}

I hope this helps clear you confusion and Good Luck.

Exclamation Hold on Guys

The BSCI (640-901) and the CCIP ciriculum has in place for over a year now.

There is only one course that is contained in both the CCN/DP tracks and the CCIP track that is complementary, that is now the BSCI course. (Up until a few weeks ago you couldn't use the BSCI course for the CCN/DP tracks.)

As we are aware the CCNP and CCDP requires
Routing
Switching
Remote

and either the Support or the CCDA/CID exams

There are no prerequisites for a CCIP
CCNP requires CCNA
CCDP requires CCNA and CCDA

The BSCI track requires passing only 3 exams:
Routing - BSCI (generally BSCN & IS-IS)
Multicast / QOS
and one in a series of 7 electives.
Cable
Content Networking
DSL Networks
METRO
MPLS
Packet Telephony
Security

So take 3 exams, acquire your cert. more then likely your boss won't know the difference for another year or so. Just don't try configuring one of my switches or remote connections.
