Workgroup needs?
i got 2 win2k pro machine's i'm trying to network together, i had it working fine before and now it's not...
come common q's first...
To be in a Workgroup, does IP matter? (same network?)
I already got them both on the same workgroup name and have them both wired comeing into a hub, the crazy thing is i can ping from pc A to pc B and it works, but i can't ping B to A, it times out..
also on both machines i can look in my workgroup and see the other computer's name in there but when i click on the other computers name it just says "network path not found"
just give me some pointers, they are both on the same network, subnet and all, if that even matters...
i'm beginning to feel stupid.. haha
thanks

after going over some stuff and reading some facts on using a NETBios name i fixed my problem, so for all you guys out there using workgroups and trying ICS..
1. any pc's to be in a workgroup must be on the same network, (IP network)
2. Configure ICS on one machine, through the sharing tab of your internet connection, ICS will automatically set your machine up with a 192.168.0.1 address,
Then you have to just configure you host machine's to use DHCP,
3. go into your workgroup, find the PC with the internet connection on it, then browse to the programs folder and click on the shortcut to explorer on the remote machine and that's it ...
