Hi there,

I am working on windows 2000 from last 1 year and I want to do MCSE 2000 track..
I never gave any exam online before..

Is it difficult to give these exams?..as I am studying for the exam 70-210 from last 5 months still i am not confidant ...

what should i do?

Advise is highly appriciated...

Tell us a little bit more about your background. Do you currently work in IT? Work with Domain controllers and small or large networks? What are you using to study for the exam? Books, practice tests? Have access to at least two computers that you can network together and step through the exercises in the MS Press Training Kits?

Nothing is impossible, but becoming a solid MCSE isn't easy either.

Thanks for reply..

I am having 5+ years experience in IT.

I am having very good practical hand to resolve any problem with NT/2000 , Unix networks/servers.

I am using book "MCSE 2000 prof study guide" from Syngress.

I am reading this book..working on questions everyday...but u know...still I am worried to give the exam..

As my financial condition is very bad..i can't afford the test to give it again again...

So if somebody tells me how should i prepare that..it would be gr8

I am using the MS Press Training Kit and Transcenders for practice. Transcenders are expensive but worth it if you're passing exams and not taking them again and again

You sound like you have the hands-on experience with the Operating System and just need to get comfortable with the testing format. Again, Transcenders is an excellent source for giving you the feel for the real exams (www.transcender.com). These forums are also excellent and will help you with any questions that you get stuck with.

Yeah ..I am feared about the exam strucuture..as i didn't gave any exam in past...

But now ...Its my AIM...I have to do it..

I will be practising on all the free testing sites ...

Oh, another cheap option may be to look at picking up the Readiness Review books by MS Press. They will give you a really good idea of how the questions will be (wordy).

One more question..

How about time constraint for the exam...is the time enough to go thr all the questions..

or shall i do it fast or slow...

Always take your time and read the questions carefully. The wording can be tricky sometimes. When you take an exam - at the test center before you begin the exam the person at the test center will give you a couple of sheets of paper and a pen or pencil. Before you begin the test write some quick notes on those sheets - things like the various switches for the various commands. It will help take some of the pressure off during the exam. Your time doesn't start until you start the test. You'll have an opportunity to take a sample type of quiz of I think something like 5 questions (forgive me, it's been a loooong time since I took a MS exam and am planning to take this one in the next couple of weeks), to get you familiar with the exam delivery. Take your time and try to relax as you go through those - then begin your test. I don't know of anyone running out of time on this one.

5 months of study time and real world experience should get you there imho. Try online questions to gauge how ready you are for the test.
