what's the best way to monitor memory usage
I'm using task manager to monitor the memory usage by sql
server but don't think it's the right tool.
Could someone tell me what's the best way or which tool is
the best to use?
I'm suspecting that sql server doesn't release memory
dynamically as it should.
Thanks so much.

Re: what's the best way to monitor memory usage
You can use performance monitor to view several memory counters. SQL Server
will only release memory if the OS specifically calls for it. Once the OS
is done with it SQL Server may very well immediately grab it right back.
This may happen too fast for you to see with either of these tools. This is
normal and by design.
