All,
This is taken from the Cisco Flash Card Practice kit and I
think it is wrong...

Given the IP address 172.156.100.100, mask 255.255.255.224, choose the
appropriate broadcast address.

172.156.100.127
172.156.100.255
172.156.100.31
172.156.100.128

I thought with a subnet mask of 224, 3 bits are borrowed for
subnetting resulting in an increment of 32. So the network address is
172.156.100.96...right? With an increment of 32 the next network
address is .128? So the broadcast is 172.156.100.127?

The practice kit says the answer is 172.156.100.128.

Anyone? Anyone?

you are right, it should be 172.156.100.127

ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT!!!!!!! It is 127, and a broadcast address is NEVER EVER
EVER EVER A EVEN ADDRESS.

Cisco need a thorough paddling for such a wrong answer

You are right the flash card is wrong...
So the broadcast is 172.156.100.127
