Filegroup Backups/Restores on SQL 7

Are filegroup backups/restores efficient in SQL 7 ? I have done the
filegroup backups but havent done a restore yet and would like to know how
efficient it is

Ive got multiple huge tables across multpile filegroups and hence need to do
a filegroup backup.

Could i just restore couple of filegroups instead depending on which tables
I need that reside on those filegroups or do I need to restore all of them
even though i need maybe access to one table should the database goes down

Should i need to restore the whole database , is there any order as to
restoring all the filegroups.?
What if say the tapes that a certain filegroup belongs is corrupt , would i
still be able to restore the database with the other filegroups

Thanks
