CCNA or MCSA next?
Hey, guys and gals.
I'm about to take my Network+ exam and, assuming I pass, would like to get my next cert started immediately. But I need to get my materials ordered.
Would you recommend MCSA/MCSE first? Or would a CCNA-first path be okay - that's my plan, currently.
My thinking is that I would prefer to know the hardware and "plumbing" better before I start getting so specific with the software.
If I go with CCNA, I have access to a Cisco 1900 Switch; 2600 Router, and need to know what else you guys would recommend.
Should I get a simulator?
Thanks in advance!

that's what I did
A+ then net+ then ccna and now I'm working on mcse, I've yet to take the ccna test but the info I got studying for it has helped in my mcse choice especially the 70-216 material(don't really have the money to take the tests yet need a job)
if you have 24 hour acces to the switch and router you shouldn't need a sim just some good books and websites (freaks site has some excellent resources for ccna) and the sybex book was pretty good.
good luck on whatever you decide to do

It all depends.. if your interest is in network.. go ahead and take CCNA.. since you have access to a Cisco switch and router so go ahead.. but this is only my opinion

I'd take the CCNA first. The MCSA is 4 tests, or 3 with the A+ and N+ acting as 216. The CCNA is only one, meaning you can get it done sonner and move on to the the MS world. It's better to have a CCNA than a single MCP in my opinion, and there much more knowlage learned from the CCNA. But everyoner has there own opinion, that's just mine.
CM.
