MCSA Test Today!
Hello everyone...just thought I would jump onto the board and let everyone know that I am going to be taking my MCSA test (70-218) in about two hours...
I have been working dilligently on my MCSE certification and have passed four tests in three months along with getting my A+ certification.
I watched the thread on equality of women in the IT field. I would like to put my 2 cents in. I am in the south (Memphis area). It is very, very hard for a female to get treated equally here. To make matters worse, we are still called "darling" and "sweetheart". I am 36 years old and look very young. That is another negative when I walk into the door of a client. I have to work harder than the next guy to "prove" that I know what I am doing. People don't take me serious because I am female and look so young. Owning my own business, it is frustrating to go to a potential client and get that "look".
That is why the credentials are so important to me. I may not "look" like I can do it...but the letters after my name certify that I am capable of a lot! I am hoping those letters will open some more doors for me! In the south, those doors are hard to kick wide open!
Anyway, now that I have stood on my soap box, I will leave with the request to wish me luck on my test today and I will update you on how I did...

Try to be calm. There is no big deal.
Also have faith in your self.
If you gave enough time to your self in order to get a grasp of the matterial you are gona be fine.
Also PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE ....this is the key world
Take care

Cardinal,
Good Luck on your test today. I would like to know what book or study guides are you using to study with. Also, I am the only guy in the helpdesk /lan team of eight. We are all around the same age 35-45.

best of luck to you! Let us know how it goes.
By the way, I am 30, live in the North, and secretaries still refer to me as "kiddo"
Don;t feel too bad. I feel good about knowing that whether I am a kid or not, I still make 3 times more money than they do -- or ever will So there! LOL
