Question Wed 70-216 Question of the Day

And today's poser is ....

Q72. You administer a Windows 2000 network and your network has 3 Windows 2000-based WINS Servers. You want periodic backups of the WINS database on all WINS Servers to occur automatically. What should you do?

A. In the WINS console on all 3 WINS servers, right-click to select the server name, then select the Backup Database option.

B. In the WINS console on all 3 WINS servers, configure the General properties of each WINS server to specify the default backup path.

C. On all 3 WINS servers, use Windows Backup to schedule a regular backup of the contents of the System32\WINS subdirectory.

D. On all 3 WINS servers, configure the File Replication Service to copy the contents of the System32\WINS subdirectory to another location on the disk.

Good Luck .... see you tomorrow for the answer!!

C or D
the other 2 don't make sense to me so I'll rule em out

I'm gonna go with C because I don't think you can set the replication service to another location on the disk (didn't see that option and I was just messing with this earlier today) and they are just text files so an ordinary backup would do the trick. (but is this the M$ answer

I'm going to have to say A on this one.

(I would love to give my reasons here, but I will wait. )

I'm with Zaraspook on this one.

"B" it is.

Nice tricky question. Had to dig for that one.

Check out the MCSE Training Kit for Network Infrastructure Administration, Chapter 9, Lesson 4, Configuring WINS Replication. It is the last section before the Lesson Summary.
