Sam's Teacg Yourself SQL 2000 Server

I plan to take 70-229 first.

Without any notice, I bought "Sam's Teach Yourself Microsoft SQL 2000 Server in 21 Days" as my study book for 70-229.

Now I am in Day 5 course and just wonder this particular book give more
information about Administration (70-228 test) but not for 70-229 test.

Please kindly give my any idea if this book (Sam's 21 Days) is better for 70-229 test? or is better for 70-228 test?

Thanks in advance.

I bought the SQL 7 version of that book, and it didn't have enough info to pass either the dev or admin exams.

If you want to pass 70-229, I would suggest a combination of the official training kit and the Transcender exams.

If 70-229 is anything like 70-029, it is very tough, and you will need all the help you can get.

good for an overview

The Sams SQL 2000 in 21 days is a good book to get a grounding in SQL Server 2000, more with an admin focus than a design focus.

It is a good book to start with, and then move onto the study guides/books that claim to prepare you for the exams.

I started with this Sams book, and then moved on to the Sybex & Osborne prep books - neither of which was that good in terms of preparing for the exams, but added a further granularity to my preparation.

If you can, get a hold of the Transcender for 70-229. It is invaluable, but you'll need more than the Sams book.

The only book that did not impress, and I have seen others flame it as well, is the examcram book. I guess it's a matter of personal taste; what one person likes someone else doesn't, and vice-versa.

Good luck!

Thanks baruugh.

Yes, I use Sams for to get foundation and move to Sybex and Osborne as you suggested.
After that, then I will think about using
Transcender before take test.

Thanks again.
