Gather certs in India or go for MS in US
Hi
I am a BE(graduate) in Computers from Mumbai Univ. My interests are in Networking field and my aim in life is not to be on any job for lifelong but rather jump to the business line sooner or later. Can you people suggest as to how should I proceed:
Should I gather certs in Comptia and Cisco, do a job for few years to gather experience and then move on to some related business(I don't know what, do suggest)
OR
Should I go to US to take a MS in some Networking field (my academics are not so strong and the visa rules for foreign students have been made more strict and lastly the cash factor won't be so easy for me)(Don't feel that I've already removed this possibility) and then do a job and then switch to some business in US or back home.
Other possibilities are welcome.
thanx

If business is your aim, I think the best route would be to go ahead and get your B.S. in some technical field and then work for a few years in that field and then maybe do your MBA, and that will allow you into the management or business side of things. I know there are still lots of Indians who do their degrees in the U.S. and work for a company here for a time then go back home. Although things have gotten tighter, you shouldn't have a terrible time getting accepted to some place here. But if I were in your shoes, that would be the path that I would "aim for". Certs are great to have when job hunting, but they are not really that important. Once you have yoiur MCSE or CCNP, you should have enough to allow others to seriosuly consider you as long as you have a degree as well. Hope this helps ji.

Do what it take to be a better future, I saw many Indian from India come here to study for M.S and get a job here. But the new requirement for VISA is very hard to get.
Therefore I recommend to work and take the certification from your country.
