I know CCIE is hard. I was just making fun of all (myself included) who struggle very hard to pass just one CCIE lab. It's always humbling to see how far others have gone before you.

I've just begun my journey towards earning CCIE designation...after reading an article like that, I can't help but feel as if CCIE is an entry-level designation.

And I bet he spends his spare time sitting semi-naked in a darkened room stroking his routers! lol
Some of us need a life as well as our CCIE.

CCIE Beta
Hey!
As another alternative to buying practice tests and alot of expensive gear right out the gate why not take one of the beta exams offered by Cisco?
At least you get a preveiw of what the written may be like for you.
The cost is only 50 bucks as compared to 300 and if you pass you get credit, meaning you can start to prep for the lab. If you don't it does not appear in you Cisco profile.
The CCIE beta is 351-001 and is offered by Vue and Prometric I think.

Just a thought......

Well informed people know it is impossible to transmit the voice over wires and that were it possible to do so, the thing would be of no practical value.

I had only decide to go for the ccie exam only after 3.5 years of working in the telecom industry.
Spent 6 months for the written exam, and another 3 months on my company practice lab.
Fail badly at my first two attempt, pass on my fifth attempt oct 2000.
Currently i am preparing for the writtem exam for c&s ccie, hope to go for my first lab attempt by aug.
cheers!
