Cool Passed this straight forward test

Well I took the exam this morning and managed to score an 85, so was quite pleased. There are one or two 'odd' questions, although they covered areas that I had not studied (or paid appropriate attention to!). Even then the off the wall questions made sense and were logical. I didn't find that the senarios were over long, sometimes they used an amusing turn of phrase to ask a simple question, which I suppose could catch the unexperienced out. Everything about RAID was out of a text book.I was asked a question on bus length and all the normal flavours of 0, 1, 3 & 5. Nothing on SCSI speeds. I have to say that like the other CompTIA tests it was a fair test. One weird thing was that the test questions were 'not mixed' I started on backups, then upgrades, then SCSI and so on. This was very good for me as it ment I was not trying to switch my brain from one topic to another. I made liberal use of the 'mark question' feature and kept moving on, finishing all the questions with about 10 minutes on the clock. I reviewed all those marked (correcting some amusing errors) and finally finished with 2 mins on the clock.
As mentioned previously I studied with Ron Gilsters Server+ For Dummies, I can't fault this book in any way, it was perfect for me and on the money, in fact the practice test was pretty good in comparison, in my section analysis the areas in which I had dropped points (Upgrading and Proactive Maintenance) were exactly the same as my practice test scores. Exam Drill was also a valuable resource (So I chose wisely!). It may be too late for some of you who are already studying, but I would reccomend these two resources to anyone starting out, without reservation. BrainBuzz's cram session is well worth a look over too.
In closing I would say that the exam is not harder than any other Cert exam, (this is not helpful) but like any exam, if you know your stuff, you will be okay. It's important that you don't believe the hype!
