I passed this morning before going to work . It was tough for a newbie like myself . The study material I used were Linux+ exam cram ,Linux+ Bible (recommended), cert21 and transcenders. I have also installed Red Hat , SusE and Mandrake .

There is only one exam for the Linux+. It is recommended that you have six months of experience using Linux on a daily basis. The knowledge covered is thorough, but still basic, but the test goes very heavily on hardware. ccieToBe probably would not even need to study for it. Anyone with a few months using, configuring and managing Linux whould not have much of a problem with it. At any rate, it will at least look good on your resume to show that you have at least one UNIX-like cert. Best wishes to you.

congratulations. I have a lot of Linux experience and have been using the Sybex Linux+ Study Guide. I find that either I am poorly prepared or the book doesn't cover the test well. Any thoughts?
thanks

I used the Sybex guide and thought it was great. The only shortcoming it had was on the hardware objevtives, and the only thing that could prepare you for that I think would be a separate A+ or Server+ book. Hardware counts for like 20% of the test.
