Single and Master domain models are NT terms. They are replaced in Win2K by Active Directory.

A single domain model consists of one domain that holds both user accounts and machine resources.

The master domain model, is one where trust relationships join two or more domains together. The master domain model stores all user accounts and groups for the enterprise in the master domain and stores physical resources, such as files and printers, in resource domains. Resource domains establish a one-way trust to the accounts domain, so the resource domains can trust users that are in the accounts domain.

You can migrate a multiple master domain model to either a domain tree or a forest in Active Directory.
