2nd interview to get through the door

Hello everyone,

This is my first post. Currently I am working on getting my CCNA (towards the end) and MCSA(at the begining).

I have not had the opportunity to actually work in the field (for pay). I have had 1 interview and it went well. I now have a 2nd interview next week and it is called a Technical interview. They will be asking me MCSE/Cisco/Networking questions. From your perspective what sort of subjects would you ask about if you wanted to interview a entry level IT person with only book knowledge. Do you have any advice on what topics I should brush up on?

Any and all input is appreciated.

That is a hard question to answer... First, it would help if you told us what the position that you're interviewing for is. I would expect to get questions related to how to upgrade both hardware/software if it's a tech support job. I would be ready for how to troubleshoot printer problems on a network if it's more of a networking position. Tell us a bit more about the job you're applying for and maybe we can pinpoint more specific areas for discussion...

The position is for major home loan lender. It is paid training. They select only 20 out of 500 applicants to train in the following, for a year:

·Systems Analysis
·Visual Basic & Java Development
·Network Administration and Operation
·Internet Development
·Data Communications
·Windows 2000
·Operations and Maintenance of the AS400
·Project Management
·Mortgage Banking Operations and Practices
·Client Server Technology
·Network Technology
·Lotus Notes Development
·SQL Database

After the training they place the trainee into a position suited to there need.

However, I was told that I would be asked technical questions based on my experiance. Which is mostly experiance in MOUS and only studies in CCNA and MCSE.

My interview is this friday. Any input would be appreciated.

Look in http://www.techrepublic.com/article....htm&src=search
I would suggest also to search in that site (they have plenty matterial in that topic) and have a general aspect and point of view about interviews tips and advices.

From what I have realised it is common for
"head hunters" to look for persons who are willing to learn and accommodate innovations
and company's policies.

Good luck
