I currenlty have a netgear (RT314) 4 port router with 3 PC's hooked up to share my high speed connection. I just recenlty purchased a 1900 switch. The switch has 2 100 Mbps ports and 12 10Mbps ports. I was wondering if it is possible to hook the switch up to the router via one of the 100Mbps port and then run my own pc off the other 100Mbps port. I also want to hook up a couple of other PC's up to the switch, is this possible? I know the netgear router has auto sense 100/10. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

All you need to do is use a cross-over cable:

1-->3
2-->6
3-->1
6-->2

You might have to set the speeds on the other NICS to 10 Mbs when you plug them in

In other words, make a straight through on one end, and swap wire 1 with 3, and 2 with 6 on the other end.

Unless you're using VLAN's, you should be able to trunk the switches using the 100 Mbps ports on both swithces. Whatever you do, leave both ends the same (eg auto-negotiate on one end and auto on the other).
