Question Hump Day 70-218 Question of the Day...

Q5. You are the admin for a member server on a W2K Domain. The member server functions as a print server called PrtSrv. You install an HP Color Laserjet 4500 on PrtSrv, and share it as HP4500. Your boss says the printer will be accessed by all users, but the Sales Managers need exclusive access to it between 7am-10am. What actions should you take to accomplish this?

A. Create 2 print shares & configure them like this:

HP4500: Available from 7am-10am. The everyone group has allow print permissions & will print to this printer.

HP4500SM: Always available. The Sales Managers have allow print permissions & print to this printer. The everyone group has deny print permissions to this printer.

B. Create 2 print shares & configure them like this:

HP4500: Available from 7am-10am. The everyone group has allow print permissions & will print to this printer.

HP4500SM: Always available. The Sales Managers have allow print permissions & print to this printer. The everyone group's permissions were removed for this printer.

C. Create 2 print shares & configure them like this:

HP4500: Available from 10am-7am. The everyone group has allow print permissions & will print to this printer.

HP4500SM: Always available. The Sales Managers have allow print permissions & print to this printer. The everyone group has deny print permissions to this printer.

D. Create 2 print shares & configure them like this:

HP4500: Available from 10am-7am. The everyone group has allow print permissions & will print to this printer.

HP4500SM: Always available. The Sales Managers have allow print permissions & print to this printer. The everyone group's permissions have been removed for this printer.

Good Luck!

I have to go with 'D'

C is incorrect. If you choose to deny everyone, then all groups and users will be denied. Deny always wins.

If the logical printer is available from 7AM-10AM to everyone, then the sales managers will not have exclusive access.

Just how I see it.

Good luck on your test tomorrow ntbug5!
Were & have been don't make a difference in this case, I just worded them different (didn't catch that).

Read B & D again in reference to what the question is asking & the answer should pop out at you!

The CORRECT answer is "D".
The everyone group will have access to the printer all the time except 7am-10am. The Sales Managers will always have access, and they will have exclusive access between 7am-10am, fulfilling what your boss required!
