Starting my Own Business...
I am starting my own business: Computer Consulting. The area I am in is great because it is a small town with not a lot of computer geeks like me running around. Anyway, I have my web site up and running.
I have joined the chamber of commerce and I am going to mail a package to all members telling them of what services I provide.
Do you experts out there have any sagely advice on what more I should do to promote myself and my site?

Congats on your step.
Here is some ideas of promotion.
You can also have ads in the local radio and paper press if you can afford it.
Don't spend too much money though. Mind your marketing steps. Make your marketing plan according to the local market demand.
You can also make some discounts on your services in order to give motive to your potential clients, but do not over do it
I wish you the very best
ps: I also liked your site.

good luck, it is a tough environment out there. I picked up two new customers last week, so things are starting to pick up.
My number one advice: get yourself a good business lawyer. It is worth the money.
Let us know if we can help!

Good luck to you. The best promotion you can get is word of moth. Let everone know what you're doing and the business should start coming in.
I agree with freak, talk to a lawyer too.

congratulation!
And please allow me to play the devil after surfing your web.
First, the top left corner is the most important area of a visual. You put there a bird; beautiful but what do you want to tell your potential customer? We have only a 800x600 pixel space to tell them why we are good for them, so I am a firm believer that each pixil is supposed to do a job towards our goal.
Second, the home page is the strongest page in holding people's attention and most people will leave a site if the home page bores them.
Your client pages is comparably more suitable to be the home page than your company profile because people care more about what you can do for them than who you are. If they like what you can do they then will look for your company's information which is but a click away. Please take away the words 'client pages' and put 'Welcome' there instead. That way your home page looks a Welcome page.
Third, your web page shows 3 different colors on my 3 monitors. I think you better choose a web-safe color (for you reference: www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/makapage/bgcolors216.html}, at least for your background, to convey to your clients the desired mood. Please see whether this color tool can help you also: www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/makapage/picker/index.html
Please mind me out if I sound arrogant. I don't mean that at all but I know my English sounds harsh. I heartily wish you all the success. Good luck!

I like the site and I agree with labelladonna you should change your start page to your client page and rename it welcome
other than that it's well laid out and informative and sounds like you got yourself a good thing going
good luck

I'm going to echo Freak's comment...and add my top 10.
1. Get a good lawyer.
2. Get a better accountant.
3. Get liability coverage.
4. Broker your PC installs to a major vendor whenever possible.
5. Invest in quick books.
6. Save all receipts
7. Remember, favors stop at your home and business starts at their doorstep...your time is money.
8. Book service calls on a specified project or per incident basis, work beyond that call should be done at another scheduled time unless a critical outage.
9. ALLWAYS BACK IT UP, HAVE A BACKOUT PLAN AND NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING.
10. Once a project is set, make sure all approving parties have provided written acceptance.
That's my .02
Best of Luck
