If you are talking about a member server, yeah, DHCP is okay to use. But, if you are talking about a Domain Controller, you will be required to supply a fixed address. I prefer any nodes that offer a network service to have fixed addresses. Hubs, routers, servers, printers etc. are easier to troubleshoot, if you know where they are.

With multiple PC's I would go ahead and use DHCP for the workstations. For printers, routers, other servers I would use static.
