DDR question
just reread the DDR portion in the Lammle book and just wondering here. it says to use static routes, well say I have 2 other routers on different floors and I want those people to be able to access the DDR do I specify static routes on those as well. and for some reason I thought if a routing protocol was used you cant use static routes. could some one clarify this for me?
Thanks

He is probably referring to the practice of using FLOATING static routes to trigger the dial. You would still want your routing protocol in inform your other devices of connectivity acheived over the dial link.

The floating statics MadChef referred to are used to bring up the backup circuit and then your routing protocol should take over and restore connectivity once the ISDN link is up.
Ya, I know that's what MadChef said in so many words
