Job Prolems
Just wondering how others got jobs. I am a career changer, but have been assisting in my past job with computers. I recently moved, so networking and making contacts are tough to come by. Any suggestions? I am focusing my search with monster.com (actually had two temps jobs from them), and the local newspaper.

I'd say you're doing well as some people can not boast of even aquiring a temp post in this field as at yet. Times are difficult economically and companies are feeling the impact hence a lot of job loses and downsizing. I would advice you to keep looking as am sure you'd get something more suitable with time. Remember life is a struggle and the struggle continues. Best of luck and in your quest for a more suitable IT position. Just keep sending your resume to as many agencies as possible on the Internet. Also I heard hotjobs.com and dice.com as well as computerjobs.com are quite good check them out.

I wouldn’t rely to heavily on Monster.com, since every job posted gets hundreds of responses. Find out if there is an IT professionals association in your area and join it. That will help with you with making contacts. You can always try volunteering your time at local companies. If they like what they see, they might hire you. Plus it will add to your experience.

Hey, thanks for the advice. I am just lost right now. Your statements have helped with the depression of not finding a job. Thanks again.
