meaning of ip default-gateway in 1900 switch
Guys i really need ur help....please can anyone in clear terms explain to me what exactly the command "ip default-gateway" command means in Cisco Catalyst 1900 switch...i know its the router's address but there is something else to it....i mean its really confusing.....please give answers with practical examples as i really need to explain it to my students who r appearing in CCIE classes...will be waiting for ur replies...Take care all of ya...Kumar

Routers also have default gateways. If a router can't find the destination network in it's routing table it simply sends the packets to it's default gateway (The interface you make the default).
