My pick :
C. When the DNS Server needs to operate as the primary DNS server.

C. When the DNS Server needs to operate as the primary DNS server.
D. When the DNS Server needs to operate as the secondary DNS Server.
Good Luck .... see you tomorrow for the answer!!
And the answer is ....
Correct Answers: B
Domains define hierarchical levels, the top of which is called the root domain. Top-level domains reside beneath the root level in the hierarchical structure. The root DNS name server contains the resource records for all of the top-level DNS name servers in the domain namespace (for example, the COM domain). The top-level DNS name servers contain the resource records for the second-level DNS name servers (for example, the mycomputer.com domain).
It is necessary for you to configure a root DNS name server if your intranet will not be connected to the Internet. Therefore, the root-level domain is for the intranet only.
An exception to this is if you are using a proxy server to gain access to the Internet. Then you will also need to configure a root-level domain. Create the root of your local DNS namespace, and the proxy service will perform the necessary translations and connections for Internet access. However, in this scenario, no proxy server was mentioned so you should assume none existed.
A primary DNS server is an authoritative DNS server for a zone. Primary masters are updated directly and are used as the first source for updating secondary servers in a zone. A secondary DNS server is authoritative for the zone in which it resides and is also used as a source when replicating to other servers in the zone. Whether a DNS server is a primary or secondary has no bearing on whether a root-level domain should be configured.
A root-level domain cannot be used when connected to the Internet since the root-level and top-level domains for the Internet would then be used.
