Exclamation Passed Linux+

Hey,

Passed Linux+ today (810 out of 900). Word to any potential testers out there > KNOW YOUR HARDWARE!!!

I have been doing this stuff for quite some time and I had to guess on some very obscure hardware questions, several on SCSI and CMOS/BIOS.

Also, study hard on the following areas: Security including hosts.allow/hosts.deny, Running processes and how to manage them, know where certain files are located and their purpose, the boot process, disk/partition management and mount points.

Only one question on VI and a couple on Xwindows...

I used the Boson practice exams, Exam Cram Linux+ study guide and the Cramsession "pdf"... good resources, but the biggest help was the two RedHat 7.2 servers setting in my office.

Don't go into this exam without spending time on the command line, I can't stress that enough~!

Anyway, I wouldn't rate this exam as a "beginner"...

Good luck, and oh yeah, don't trust that Chodan guy, he is tricky.

Congrats. This sounds like a good cert for someone interested in Linux who has the A+ cert (like me) with all the hardware on there.

Excellent score....does this exam 'lean' towards any particular version of Linux or is it pretty generic?

I hear it leans toward Red Hat.

actaully when i took the exam, which is about the time when it came out i think, not sure, there was no distro specific stuff at all .. actaully its supposed to be completely vendor neutral ..
