Which way to go?
I am currently A+ certified and I habitually changing my computer and love it. I want to do more but I am not sure of the next certification step. I really like the hands on stuff but need some guidance. Also, note that I'm currently employed full time in a field that does not involve any I.T. work. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

first of all tear that computer you got apart as much as you like (I did it so much i finally had to get rid of the case, It just got in the way)and now my computer is just lying on top of an end table all open and happy
but as for the next step if you like your job keep it but maybe study some CCNA stuff or MCSE stuff on the side (couldn't hurt) you'll still have to take your pc apart every once in a while (to install nics and upgrade memory when you absolutely need win2kpro)but you'll gain a better knowledge of how the box actually works

mcsa
I recomend
doing the MCP/MCSA because
microsoft windows 2000 pro and server
are fairly easy to get your hands on.
Also net+ and Linux+
Linux is free so it would be a good one to do.
Not for the faint of heart though "but what cert is"

I think I'm going to try the network+ cert first and then maybe linux. I definitely need to learn more about basic networking first though.

that pretty much covers it
it's just hard to get a job without experience and I was a little angry the day I put that up (someone stole my other sig) and had been looking.
but what I'm really looking for is on-site tech support. I created a company (mainly just for friends) doing this, but it's just a pain trying to break into the business

I lucked into my job as I didn`t have any real expierience.
Plus this was 3 years ago and the wave was still riding high.
I think you will get your foot in the proverbial door soon though.
Then you can really show your stuff.
